Very competitive day in the first apparatus finals

Yuri Van Gelder of Netherlands who is world ranked number one in Rings event justified his claim by winning gold medal on Wednesday in Rings event at the First Doha Artistic World Gymnastics a series championship being held at Aspire Dome.
The three day championship is being organised by Qatar Gymnastics federartion under the aegis of FIG.
Later talking to newspersons, Yuri said he is hoping to retain his number one place in the rest of the world cups . he said for beijing olympics also, he is quite hopeful of a medal. Yuri said Doha meet has encouraged him and this win was more vital.
He kexin of China who won women gold medal in uneven bars said Doha
chapionship was organsied in anice manner and complimented the efforts
made by organisers.
Earlier large number of enthusiasts turned to Aspire to watch the
world leading gymnasts in action.
A Cultural programme was held in the evening which enthralled the audience.
On Thursday the three men finals while two women finals be played,
In men it will be Vault,, Parallel Bars and Horizontal bar while for
women, the event for balance beam and floor will be held. The events
will begin at 4 pm.
