It was once again China whose gymnasts swept away with total nine medals with five gold medals , three silver medals and one bronze medal in the various events at the conclusion of the First Doha Artistic world series A gymnastics championship at the Aspire Hall.
While Chinese women won three gold medals, two silver and one bronze,
its men collected two gold and one silver.
With only five months left for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Chinese
gymnasts are well ahead on their target of winning medals in the
Olympics going to be held in their home country.
Deng Linlin was the star performer as she
won one gold, one silver
and one bronze medal.
Jiang Yuyuan won two medals, one gold and one silver while He Kexin
one gold medal.
'The tournament was very well organized and ina very professional
manner', commented Oksana Chusovitina of Germany who had earlier won gold medal in the Vault.
The wife of heir Apparaent ,Her Excllency Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad
Bin Suheim Al Thani decorated the women medal winners. Also present
in the victory ceremony was Abdul Rahman Al Shathri, President Qatar
Gymnastics Federation.
